Defend your phone: the iPhone vs the Droid

Listen live at 10am ET/7am PT

iphone_droidWNYC’s Brian Lehrer is devoting a few minutes today to the current debate about which phone is better: the Motorola Droid (on Verizon) and the Apple iPhone (on AT&T).

Brian has enlisted a couple of WNYC producers, On the Media’s Mark Phillips, an Android partisan, and The Takeaway’s Jim Colgan, an iPhone aficionado, to defend their personal choices, and, by extension, the carrier to which they’ve attached their lives and a large chunk of their take home pay.

(I own both phones and love both of them.) Interested? Join the phone fight today on WNYC’s Brian Lehrer.

Listen live or on-demand. (We’re not exactly certain of the timing of this segment within the live show today.)

Isn't coverage a huge factor here? I have (and love) iPhone, but if you live in one of those places where their network drops calls...well... I happen to live just outside the 3G coverage area for ATT. That might have been a factor for me if both phones had been available when I bought. I'm in a wireless network a lot of the time anyway, but 3G is obviously better than the slow ATT data network.
