PM Public Radio: Nov 13

The Justice Dept announces that it is bringing self-proclaimed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to trial in New York; consumer confidence drops; and scientists say there is water on the moon. Here are some of the other top stories on the PM programs today:
All Things Considered: President Obama starts off a trip to Asia. The main event of his trip will be a visit to China, but the first stop, Japan, represented an opportunity for the President to repair a relationship that had become a bit strained. Scott Horsley reports on Obama’s meeting with Japan’s Prime Minister, Yukio Hatoyama, during which the topics discussed included the economy, nuclear non-proliferation, clean energy.
Marketplace: McDonald’s is looking to build on its successful $1 menu campaign by introducing a $1 breakfast menu. McDonald’s franchisees are ecstatic. Burger King franchisees? Not so much–and they may take their case to court.
The World: The Chinese government is exploring ways to dismantle dams along the Yangtze river, and they are looking to the US for advice. They have sent a delegation to study efforts here to restore rivers. Maria Giovannelli reports.
