PM Public Radio

As the statewide elections in Virginia and New Jersey are getting the bulk of the attention, voters are going to the polls in local elections throughout the country; the White House is working to fix the H1N1 vaccine shortage, according to press secretary Robert Gibbs; and Republican Senators boycott a committee hearing on a climate change bill. Here are some of the other top stories on the PM programs today:

The US has signed off on the election results, but the Obama Administration wants Karzai to make progress in fighting corruption in his country and in his government. Matthew Bell reports.
All Things Considered: House Republicans are putting forward their version of a health care bill. Julie Rovner reports on what it offers, and what it doesn’t. Also, Michele Norris interviews Basketball Hall of Famers Larry Bird and Magic Johnson about their new book.
Marketplace: Tribune newspapers the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune are cutting back on the amount of stories they print from the Associated Press. A loook at what might happen to the wire service in the newspapers find the strategy successful.
