Sufjan Stevens and The BQE
Today on Morning Edition, Sufjan Stevens talked with Steve Inskeep about his new album, The BQE, inspired by – oddly enough – the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
It’s a great interview, and includes this Stevens gem: “My job as an artist is to find beauty where there is ugliness. And I think this project is all about the beautification of a dilapidated object of scorn.”
