Today on KQED’s Forum, Michael Krasny talks to John Freeman about how we communicate. The Granta editor has written The Tyranny of E-mail, which considers the 4,000 year history of the written word, and apparently, its decline and fall in the face of the email inbox.
Freeman doesn’t like email, and he makes a thoughtful argument that email does more to disconnect us from our world, rather than connecting us to it.
