Too Big to Fail
This is a Fresh Air interview we wanted to listen to last week, but didn’t get to until the weekend. And since many stations pre-empt portions of shows during fundraising week, there’s a chance you did, too.
One of the latest of the notable books on the economic crisis comes from New York Times reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin: Too Big To Fail: The Inside Story of How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System — and Themselves.
Sorkin tries to weave all the pieces together into a master narrative, and in that way, his book is similar to David Wessel’s In Fed We Trust. But Sorkin is focused on the collapse itself and what caused it.
This is yet another great Terry Gross interview – questions that are deceptively simple but try to get deep inside the economic collapse.
