Jane Mayer on predator drones in Afghanistan and Pakistan
If you haven’t read Jane Mayer’s excellent piece in The New Yorker on the ethics of the predator drone program, you should. She covers the CIA’s secret drone program, which isn’t designed to support troops on the ground. Instead, it can be argued, it’s a form of state-sanctioned assassination, which began during the Bush administration and continues under President Obama.
On Fresh Air last week, Mayer talked about the CIA’s secret program, the private contractors who run it, and the lack of accountability surrounding it.
