Francine Prose on Anne Frank
In her new book, Anne Frank: The Book, The Life, The Afterlife, Francine Prose writes that Anne Frank was a literary genius.
Prose writes that, while she was in hiding, Frank heard on the radio that when the war ended there would be interest in the stories of what people had suffered. Prose asserts that Anne Frank carefully crafted her diary, with the intention of keeping her story alive – a deliberate work of art is how Prose refers to it.
Francine Prose spoke to Michael Krasny yesterday on KQED’s Forum.
