PM Public Radio

President Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court; North Korea tests two short-range missiles; and the California Supreme Court upholds a ban on gay marriage. The PM programs follow those stories, along with these highlights:
The World: Lisa Mullins speaks with former American military contractor Marc Gonsalves about his experience being held hostage for more than five years by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia or FARC. Gonsalves was on board a plane that went down in FARC territory during a counter-narcotics mission in 2003
Marketplace: A public-private venture and $200 million in funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is being used to launch the final test for a potential malaria vaccine. If it works, the collaboration could provide a viable business model for developing drugs for poor countries. Megan Williams reports.
All Things Considered: ATC follows a day of strong pub radio coverage of the Sotomayor nomination with a series of related interviews. The key get for the program appears to be Sen. Chuck Grassley, a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
