In Spain, airlines are losing traffic to high speed rail, which provides service that’s faster and more convenient, when you factor in the security and baggage hassles of flying. Small cities benefit, too, because travel to and from them is easy and efficient. NPR’s Jerome Socolovsky reports on the expansion of Spain’s network, and how it might provide the blueprint for regional rail networks in the US.
