Marc Andreessen on Facebook, the next big thing
Marc Andreessen is one of the smartest entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, and in this conversation with Charlie Rose, he cuts through a fair amount of crap on Facebook’s business model (there’s nothing like hearing people who can’t run their own household discuss how Facebook must start making money), and offers a picture of the long-term growth model that Zuckerberg envisions for the company.
Andreessen sits on the board of Facebook, so you have to keep that in mind, but frankly, a lot of the chatter about Facebook’s “lack of a business model” is just that: chatter. It’s refreshing to hear from someone who has a clue.
Oh, and is innovation dead? Hardly, says Andreessen. And don’t miss the provocative discussion about the future of newspapers around the 30-minute mark.
