Henry Louis Gates, Jr: Looking for Lincoln
As we’re celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, we’ve flooded the blog with Lincoln-related books and conversations. But there’s always one more good thing to be discovered, and last night we watched “Looking for Lincoln” on PBS and found it fascinating and enjoyable.
Henry Louis Gates, Jr. meets and talks to the people who live with Lincoln every day, ranging from collectors of memorabilia to historian Doris Kearns Goodwin. (She’s one of the highlights.)
The doc aired on PBS this week, but if you missed it, watch it online. Highly recommended.
