What about the newspaper?
Today’s second first hour of On Point looks at the future of newspapers, and ahead of the conversation, here are two examples of newspapers up against it.
Hearst Corporation has hit the wall with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and is considering closing down the print edition entirely and replacing it with an online edition. The city’s other newspaper, the Times, is facing uncertainties, too.
Now a Seattle group is trying to encourage locals to buy the newspaper from Hearst, to keep it alive.

In the Twin Cities, The Minneapolis Star-Tribune has filed for bankruptcy. Is Chapter 11 the beginning of a new start for the newspaper? Or is it the beginning of the end? Minnesota Public Radio’s Martin Moylan reports.
