Peace, War and Indifference
We talk about war in the context of accomplishments and objectives, but what about the accomplishments and objectives of peace?
Producer Andrew Reissiger explores war and peace and “indifference” in this documentary, which is composed almost entirely of speeches by past Presidents – Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Reagan – along with poetry and music.
The doc is almost an hour long, but we found it thoughtful and moving, and on a day like this, it seems appropriate to take a step back from the news and think about the bigger picture.
Note: you can hear this piece at PRX, which is a treasure trove of great public media content. You need to sign up to listen, but it’s free to do so, and we think you’ll discover all kinds of other great stuff there.
