Listeners Speak: The Best Music of 2008
It was close, but Fleet Foxes edged out Vampire Weekend as the top vote-getter in this year’s NPR poll of listener favorites. All Songs Considered reports that tens of thousands of listeners cast ballots, so we can safely say this list has endured some widespread curation.
And we gotta say, it’s a good list. Death Cab for Cutie made it, and so did MGMT, My Morning Jacket, Coldplay, Sigur Rós, the Brian Eno/David Byrne collaboration, Portishead… uh, have we convinced you yet?
